Their new speedster sub, dubbed the Underwater Express, can go 127 miles per hour as opposed to the standard sub's top speed of about 29 mph. How does it do it, pray tell? Well, it separates itself from the water by encasing itself in a giant gas bubble. The bubble can move through the water quickly, with no drag on the sub itself.

兵器ってあまり好きじゃないが、これは兵器を越えた応用も期待できるのではないのだろうか。127mphということは、メートル換算すると時速204kmになるので、驚異的なスピードである。
しかし、水の抵抗を減らすために気体で覆うというのは、よくもまあ考えついたものだ。水中が地上と同じ環境になるということだからね。
水中、水上を限らず、海運というのは水の抵抗との戦いだった。ホバークラフトや水中翼船などは、その対策として考えられたものだし。
このアイデアが実際に採用されて実現し、実際に使われ始めたら、映画などでの水中戦闘シーンも変わるんだろうね。

……って、ツッコミどころは本来はそこではなく、石器時代の人の顔を再現してみせたという点を素直に「凄い」というべきなのだろうが、このタイトルを付けた人のセンスが記事を台無しにしているような気がしてしまうのだが……。

ついに来た。検索ワード「ウラタロス 攻」。Yahoo!で検索したら、このblogが一ページ目にいた(^^;;
で、ちょっと探索してみたら、801的にはウラタロスは受攻どちらでも可という感じで、ウラ×モモなのだそうだ。
奥が深い……。
しかし、こんなことばかり書いていると、キッズ向け検索サイトから削除されかねんな(^^;;
